Here she is! She’s the 47th and reigning Miss Gay Arkansas America and also the current Miss Gay Fayetteville, Cassandra Rae!
Established in 1972, the Miss Gay Arkansas America Pageant is the oldest preliminary to the Miss Gay America Pageant system, where a young Norma Kristie (Norman Jones), representative of Arkansas, was crowned the first Miss Gay America in 1972. Jones later purchased the national system and operated its vast network of preliminaries for 35 years, and continues to direct the operations of the Miss Gay Arkansas franchise. It is the only drag pageantry system where no female body augmentations or enhancements are permitted.
Fun Fact: Miss Gay Fayetteville Arkansas America is also one of the oldest city preliminary titles in the national system, beginning at George’s Majestic Lounge in 1975 with the crowning of Miss Delilah, and establishing a long history of future Miss Gay Arkansas’s.
